Graduate Interior Designer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   
A Graduate Interior Designer undertakes a design project from programming, planning, concept design through and including construction administration.  You will be involved in various design typologies including but not limited to: new building designs, additions, alterations, restorations and conservations from the earliest stages right through to completion.  The goal is to achieve client’s needs and to produce sustainable, functional and aesthetically pleasing design solutions.  The Graduate Interior Designer will work as an integrated team member in the design process without creation of a hard line between interiors and architecture.  The primary goal for this role is to design solutions which will improve the quality of life for the occupants. 


Specific tasks will be assigned by the Principal in Charge or the Senior Interior Designer and may include design, coordination, detailing, production, review, and any other task necessary to support the design team.  Tasks may include:

  1. Undertake project from concept to completion.

  2. Work with the Senior Interior Designer and Project Architect to help define project requirements and schedule during the “brief” preparation.

  3. Interpret and translate customer needs into preliminary interior layouts.

  4. Develop design solutions in line and according to the project budget.

  5. Research and decide on materials and products sourcing.

  6. Organization, management, and upkeep of materials library.

  7. Work with manufacturers to obtain samples and product literature.

  8. Develop and prepare mood images and presentation boards.

  9. Work closely with architects, engineers, specialist consultants, and contractors.

  10. Research and follow industry changes, evolutions, and best practices.

  11. Assist with performing QA/QC and technical reviews

  12. Participate with construction contract administration as needed

  13. Make onsite visits with management to check on project status and report findings.

  14. Ensure that all works are carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines and regulations.

  15. Perform other duties, tasks, and initiatives contributing to the success of the firm as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

•    Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or closely related field
•    2-5 years of experience
•    Must have experience in Interior Design, interior decorating, FF&E selection, and technical detailing
•    Good knowledge of market materials / products, construction details, regulations, and quality standards for interiors
•    Awareness of and relationships with local vendors and product companies
•    Creative imagination and the ability to think and create in three dimensions
•    Visual awareness and an eye for detail
•    Experience with presentation preparation and development of sample boards
•    Candidate must be an excellent communicator, both verbal & written, and have excellent people skills
•    Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•    Excellent written and communication skills
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process

Graduate Architect

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   
The following duties and responsibilities have been determined to be essential to the successful performance of this position. Specific tasks will be assigned by the Project Manager or Project Architect/Captain and may include design, coordination, detailing, production, review, and any other task necessary to support the design team.  Tasks may include: 

  1. Develops, modifies, and reviews production drawings and construction documents.

  2. Corrects and updates documents.

  3. Development of design presentation drawings and documents.

  4. Development of design phase deliverables.

  5. Development of submittal documents to municipalities and local authorities.

  6. Assist the team in responding to construction phase RFI’s and design clarifications.

  7. Develop and coordinate architectural details.

  8. Coordinate architectural drawings with other disciplines drawings.

  9. Responsible for compiling, arranging, and recording of project files using approved file directory system.

  10. Incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents.

  11. Participate with construction contract administration as needed.

  12. Make onsite visits with management to check on project status and report findings.

Project Architect

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   
The following duties and responsibilities have been determined to be essential to the successful performance of this position. Specific tasks will be assigned by the Principal in Charge or the Project Manager and may include design, coordination, detailing, production, review, and any other task necessary to support the design team.  Tasks may include: 

  • Lead a multi-disciplined team, perform design creative layouts and detailing on architectural projects

  • Independently coordinate work of a multi-disciplined team through multiple phases of a design project

  • Establish owner/client and internal meetings, and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance

  • Initiating and creating designs and plans of projects with responsibility for preparation of presentation and design drawings.

  • Identifying client’s needs and developing feasibility reports and design proposals.

  • Development of concept ideas keeping in mind client’s needs, building program, and environmental impact.

  • Coordinate workload of team members through multiple phases to complete documents on schedule

  • Review architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines

  • Perform QA/QC and technical reviews

  • Write and edit architectural specifications

  • Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders

  • Incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   
The following duties and responsibilities have been determined to be essential to the successful performance of this position. 
The Senior Project Manager will function as a project leader on mid-size to large scale projects and is expected to demonstrate a history of progressive experience effectively leading similar scale projects. This individual will be expected to effectively manage multi-discipline project teams, maintain client satisfaction, and achieve company goals. They will also be expected to market and secure new work from existing and potential clients, coordinate the work of professional staff and subconsultants throughout project assignments, perform architectural design functions and complete project tasks, coordinate with clients in the execution of work, and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. They must demonstrate leadership experience in taking a project from planning, through design, construction to operations. 


Professional judgment in areas of contractual liability must be prevalent within the daily role for this position. This individual is expected to be able to manage their projects at a high-quality level of professionalism and be capable of dealing with various challenges which occur during the project contract duration.  Actively manages client budgets, schedules, and programs; budget and schedule; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments. Estimates fees, determines scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts on the most complex projects.
